Taste of Happiness

What is Taste of Happiness?

We bring the people behind
our food into the light.

Taste of Happiness is a cinematic documentary series about food heritage, biodiversity and regeneration.
We document the people who keep food heritage alive, and turn their stories into tools for destinations, hospitality and education.

“
In a world where so much feels disconnected, it will be inspiring to step into that rich space between soil and plate - the place of growth, story, human passion, grit and, yes, sometimes the disappointments too.
The place where our senses wake up again.
”

Why it Matters

The future of food is also the future of a place.

Across the Costa Blanca, people are protecting seeds and landscapes, along with knowledge passed down through generations. We call them Food Heroes.
Their knowledge lives in their hands and their daily work, but very little of it is being documented. Healthy soil, pollinators, native breeds and heirloom varieties are the foundations of biodiversity, and biodiversity is the foundation of everything we eat.
By documenting the people behind the food, we make the living systems visible.

Our Heroes

What makes a Food Hero?

Our Heroes are the ones who shape the food culture of a place long before it reaches the kitchen. They are not only excellent producers, growers, winemakers, beekeepers, bakers, or makers. We are looking for something deeper.
We look for people driven by big ideas and motivations. Those who are recovering native varieties, saving seeds, restoring soil, protecting biodiversity, reviving places and traditions. People whose work makes their landscape stronger.
What they do has a name. It is called Regeneration.

Our Mission

The best meals of our lives were made by people we never met.

We want to change that, and help people remember that food doesn't start in the kitchen. It starts in the soil, with the seed, in the hands of someone who chose to keep doing things slowly and well.
Our mission is to document those people with the cinematic language they deserve, and to build an educational platform around their stories, so that knowledge travels beyond the Costa Blanca, into the wider world.

What Regeneration is to us

Regeneration means more life than before.

Sustainability asks how can we protect what we already have.
Regeneration goes further: how can the soil, the landscape and the communities around food be healthier and more alive?
For us, it is not a label but a living soil, biodiversity, local varieties, landscapes brought back into use and knowledge kept alive through practice. And it does not stop at the farm. The same thinking is changing how places grow, cook, travel and welcome people.
Across the Costa Blanca and beyond, people are already doing it. Most would never call themselves regenerative - they simply do the work. We tell their stories because this knowledge lives in practice, not in definitions.

Our Philosophy

We stay out of the way.

Many of the people shaping the identity of the Costa Blanca remain invisible to the wider world. Their work protects soil, biodiversity, local gastronomy and the cultural landscape of the region.
Taste of Happiness aims to help make them visible through a cinematic language capable of reaching new audiences. The Food Heroes speak in their native language, with subtitles and without a narrator or host. Our role is to listen and to make sure they are heard.

The Connection

Gastronomy begins long before the restaurant.

It begins in the fields, in the sea, in local knowledge and in the stories of people who continue to care for the land and keep traditions alive. By documenting these stories, we help strengthen the connection between the soil and the table, the seed and the flavour, the hands and the memory.
Regeneration, biodiversity, food heritage: these are the threads that tie one story to the next, and the Costa Blanca to the world.

Stories of Place

A destination is more than what we see. It is what people keep alive.

Landscapes are shaped by generations of farming, fishing and cooking, who protect the character of a place. Their stories offer another way to experience a destination, through its seasons and living traditions.
This is where storytelling meets regenerative tourism: year-round discovery, respect for local communities and more value for the people who care for the land.
Taste of Happiness is:
  • documenting local food heritage
  • creating year-round reasons to visit
  • connecting visitors and hospitality with local producers
  • drawing visitors inland, away from the most crowded sites
A destination is more than what we see. It is what people keep alive.

Partner with us.

Bring Taste of Happiness to your region.

Taste of Happiness collaborates with brands, destinations, hospitality partners, foundations, cultural institutions or organisations that have regeneration in their DNA. And with anyone who wants to protect biodiversity and living food heritage.
For Hospitality: we connect local producers with guests, restaurant menus and create meaningful experiences.
For Destinations: we turn local food heritage into stories, experiences and measurable local value. We create year-round reasons to discover a place.
For Brands, Institutions and Foundations: we support authentic stories and measurable local value without taking over the narrative.
We work with partners whose actions can credibly support biodiversity, food heritage, local livelihoods or more responsible tourism. Our stories support 9 out of 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals.

Answers about the project.

A cinematic documentary series and educational platform telling the stories of the people behind the food, starting on the Costa Blanca, Spain.

No. There is no narrator and no host. The Food Heroes tell their own stories, in their own language, and we add subtitles.

Long-form episodes will live on this site and on YouTube. Shorter micro-documentaries will appear on Instagram and TikTok.

Eight across the four pillars, from a rice farmer and a citrus guardian to a beekeeper, an olive oil maker, winemakers, a native-seed grower and a chef-activist.

Soil, Seeds, Makers and Fire, the four stages of food's journey. Every film and article is tagged to one or more of them.

Season 1 is filmed across the Costa Blanca, centred on the Marina Alta and reaching beyond it. Future seasons will travel to new regions across Spain and beyond.
